Louis Lazzaro Rebori

Louis Lazzaro Rebori was born in Italy on August 31, 1867.  His family was very popular.  His parents were very rich. His father owned a fruit business.  When Louis was eleven, his family moved to America. They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana.  His father started a fruit business. It was just like the one he had in Italy.  When his business made enough money, Louis’ father started a new one in Knoxville, Tennessee.  This fruit business was given to Louis and his brother, Andrew.

Louis became very smart by reading on his own.  He also learned a lot from people that he knew.  He taught himself almost everything that he knew.  He helped his father with the business. When he was 25, he ran the fruit business in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Later he moved to Springfield, Missouri.  He and his brother, Andrew, had a fruit business in Springfield. They had their store on the main city square.   Louis knew a lot about where to build a store so that it would make a lot of money.  He and his brother built many stores in Springfield. They were very successful. 

Louis married Laura Crover in New York City on September 2, 1891. They had one child in April 2, 1899.  They named him Ralph. 

Louis was a Democrat in Springfield.  He cared about how the city grew.  He was also a Catholic at St. Agnes Church.  His friends said that he was a good man.  They also said that he was nice to everyone that he knew.  Louis was known for his hard work.  Most of the time he worked for 17 hours a day.  Louis made $27,000 by the end of his life.  He is known as one of the richest businessmen that Springfield has ever had.  Louis died on March 23, 1915. He was 48 years old.
