Application and Admission Requirements

To apply to the History for Teachers certificate program, a completed application must be submitted by the deadlines set by the Graduate College. In making admission decisions, our faculty considers evidence of your academic and professional potential and the availability of departmental resources to meet your needs.
To gain admission for the History for Teachers certificate program, you must meet the requirements below:
- Apply to and be admitted to the Graduate College at Missouri State University.
A $35 application fee is required.
- Submit transcripts to the Missouri State University office of Graduate admissions, Carrington Hall 308.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Hold a teaching certificate in history or social studies issued by a US state or territory or approval of the Graduate Director.

If you are an international student, you are required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. This requirement can be satisfied by submitting proof of a Test of English as a Foreign Language score of 550. Please visit International Student Services for more information.
