Biography

Dr. Hill is native son of the Kansas City, MO area, where he has lived most of his life. He earned BA degrees in History, Religious Studies, and Classics from Missouri State University.  He also earned an MA in British history from MSU and M.Th. (theology) from Duke Divinity School.  Yet another MA in European History from the University of Kansas and his Ph.D. from KU, where he specialized in medieval and classical church history.  He studied abroad in the UK, attending Imperial College, University of London, and Exeter College, Oxford University. Dr. Hill has led study abroad trips through the University of Kansas to Cambridge University, St. Andrews University, and Cardiff University.  He has taught a variety of history courses over the last decade including ancient, medieval, Reformation, world, and US history. He has further taught several courses on globalism and Christian theology. The study of history has profoundly influenced his life and he brings a passion for the subject into the virtual and traditional classroom.

Research and professional interests

Dr. Hill's research interests focus upon the history of Christianity, specifically the late medieval period, the Reformation, and post-Reformation world. He examines how individuals and ideas interact to shape societies and great events. His interests further extend to the interaction of theology as well as spirituality among disparate Christian groups.
