    You can apply a degree in history to a variety of workplaces and under a variety of job titles -- including educator, researcher, writer, editor, information manager, advocate, businessperson, or simply as a history professional. 
  • The Mid-America Conference on History
    Missouri State University will sponsor the Thirtieth Mid-America Conference on History on September 25-27, 2008.  The conference draws nationally from scholars at every stage of their careers -- faculty, graduate students, and independent scholars.
  • Phi Alpha Theta
    Phi Alpha Theta is the national honor society for History.  The organization brings students, teachers, and writers of history together for both intellectual and social exchanges.
  • Springfield History

  • Teaching American History (AHEEP)
    The History department and a consortium of local public school districts led by Republic are partners in a $983,000, three-year project to improve student performance in American History.

  • Public Affairs
    The department sponsors two annual programs as a part of our Public Affairs mission. History Day  / (National History Day info) is for students in grades 6 though 12 in Congressional District 7. History Bowl is a contest in which teams of high school students try to quickly answer history questions.
