Events and competitions

The best of the best showcase their history knowledge in these annual events.

National History Day (NHD)

Each year, the history department sponsors a regional History Day competition for students (grades 6-12) from area schools.

As a history student, you can help with this competition by serving as judge, assisting with registration and helping to promote the event.

Best Essay Award

The history department also sponsors the Best Essay Award, which awards a cash prize to the author of the best undergraduate and graduate paper.

Eligibility: Students who have been enrolled at Missouri State for at least one semester in the last two years.
