Four-Year Degree Plans: History Major (BA/BS)

We offer two options for achieving your history degree in four years: the Bachelor of Arts (BA) or the Bachelor of Science (BS).

What is the difference between a BA and a BS in History?

  • BA: Requires fewer history-related courses and offers a broader, liberal arts focus. Along with your history and general education courses, you'll take courses in the fine arts (art, music, literature, etc.)
  • BS: Provides a deeper focus in history-related courses.

Both degrees (BA, BS) require you to have a minor or a second major.
