Waitlist Policy
The history department will use waitlists for all of its undergraduate and graduate courses with the following exceptions:
- History 210
- History 418
- History 422/423
- History 496, 599, 796, 799
The history department head has final authority over managing waitlists.
In general, the history department will not override the waitlist, and students are encouraged to register during their appointed time to insure access to the classes they need.
In the rare case when a student has applied to graduate and can demonstrate that they must take a particular course to graduate during that semester, and there are no other options available, the department head may move that student to the top of the list.
The history department also reserves the right to manage its waitlist for secondary education courses to comply with previously established policies regarding admission into those courses.
