Bachelor of Arts Program Requirements

General Requirements

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History must meet the requirements listed  below in order to be eligible for graduation.

Major requirements (39 hours):

Note: Six hours may double count toward General Education requirements.

  1. Core requirements (18 hours):

  2. Six hours from two of the following areas:

    3. Latin America: HST 350(3), 383(3), 384(3), 395(3), 587(3), 588(3).
    4. Middle East: HST 370(3), 371(3), 541(3), 542(3), 543(3), 573(3), 574(3).
    5. Interregional and cross-regional: HST 340(3), 345(3), 369(3), 383(3), 384(3), 395(3), 504(3), 514(3), 529(3), 541(3), 563(3).
  3. Three hours in European history: HST 343(3), 351(3), 352(3), 353(3), 355(3), 356(3), 360(3), 361(3), 545(3), 548(3), 549(3), 559(3), 562(3), 566(3).
  4. Three hours in United States history: HST 312(3), 313(3) 314(3), 315(3), 324(3), 329(3), 331(3), 332(3), 375(3), 509(3), 517(3), 518(3), 519(3), 521(3), 523(3), 524(3), 525(3), 528(3), 531(3), 536(3), 537(3), 538(3).
  5.   7. Public Affairs Capstone Experience will be fulfilled by completion of HST 598(3).
  8. Minor required (or second major).
